Over the weekend I visited a friends ranch in Santa Ynez, Ca. Its located about an hour north of Santa Barbara. Beautiful rolling hills, horses and ranch after ranch of majestic beauty. This region is known for its wineries and peaceful beauty. From LA its about a 3 hour drive for a weekend of wine tasting, horseback riding, hiking.... About 20 minutes away is the famous town of Solvang, a quaint little village where Danish architecture, atmosphere and bakeries are waiting for you. I found the cutest wood clogs in one of the authentic Danish shops. Although the best time to visit is in the fall when all the grapes are being harvested. Its a breath of fresh air any time of the year.
