ROSSMORE. FOR LOVERS.

BIO: I am a hippie on the inside and a city girl on the outside. I studied art in college and then worked in the fashion industry designing, buying, and then being a sales rep. I was itching to create something that would connect people but something that was also super fun and fashionable. Out of college, I had no money so any extra cash I had from my job I would create a mold for a necklace. For 5 years I made 2 molds at a time and at the end of that 5 years I had enough to start a jewelry line. I started from the bottom by selling at flea markets. One week I would have two sales, and the next four…knowing that those sales were to awesome people kept me going.
What is the inspiration behind Rossmore? Dirty downtown objects with a soul and Los Angeles. The idea that the beauty of each piece is in the craftsmanship and the love that goes into making it.

How did you get the name Rossmore? Rossmore is my favorite street in LA. I wanted to name my brand for LA because I find so much inspiration here. There is a perfect mix of beauty and grittiness. Rossmore is the street you take to Hollywood. My jewelry embodies the ideas of art, architecture, places, experiences, love, life, etc.

How do you make your jewelry? We hand saw each piece in my workshop. Each heart design is hand drawn, hand cut and hand soldered. This makes each piece irregular and imperfect.

Why did you decide to put your clasp in an nontraditional spot? I wanted the clasp to be part of the design of the necklace. This makes it so the necklace has no beginning and no end. You know how people push your clasp to the back? I guess I always found that funny! With no end to your necklace, it can transform into several different necklaces and is constantly moving around your neck. A lot of people say my stuff is “quirky.” I wanted to create jewelry that can be layered and worn with tons of other designers and look rad.
What are your favorite things to do in LA? I love bike riding in Venice with friends, taking photos, and trying ethnic restaurants. I’m going to check out Catalina’s Market for empanadas next! The best kept secret is a mariscos truck in Boyle Heights. 4 Vientos. The shrimp tacos are INSANE. And, you can always find me at a flea market!
Why is Rossmore for “lovers”? I’ve had the experience that when people buy pieces from me that they instantly turn around and have their significant other put it on for them. I think this is because it can symbolize “no end and no beginning to a relationship.” My hearts are all unique just as every human heart is unique…people are starting to order for Valentine’s Day.
