Not Being Able to Do Your Job Well Can Lead to Early Death

Not being able to do your job properly can kill you, or at least make you very ill. In Finland workers were interviewed to ascertain their perception of how well they can do their jobs.

The study began in 1981 with 5971, 44-58 years old employees being evaluated. By 2009, 1918 of them had died. It was found that perceived work ability did indeed predict health problems as workers aged.

Most troubling was the propensity for death among these subjects, particularly the blue-collar group. Indications are that such jobs have a high degree of manual labor involved. Being locked in with the danger of having to find even harder physical work with the loss of one's job inevitably led to more worry. On the other hand, not being able to do a job well could indicate underlying health problems that affected worker's abilities when they are in their forties

Modern Men Are Weak

If Man was pushed back into the stone age men would have to get women to fight for them. Men have become real cissies with all the modern amenities. Even laborers today don't do much laboring. Trench diggers and Bobcats are the order of the day. Even farmers use mechanised fence hole diggers. Professional fighter don't do it tough any more. They demand all the luxuries.

Take for example ice hockey players. it is deemed to a be tough sport with fights breaking out in just about every game, but with all the protection there are few injuries from the physical clashes. If you were a Roman gladiator you could lose your life or have to fight on with painful injuries.

Why are sporting records being broken you say? The reason is due to the greater opportunity for those with preferable genes to succeed at sport as children, not because athletes train harder. As a child I was awed by my father's capacity to carry two one cwt bags of cement, one on each shoulder. He was quite a small man and only larger men working with him could do this. These were not the tiny bags cement comes in today. When the oil runs out the machines will be idle and men will definitely not be, any more.

The modern world relies on brainpower for societal advancement. It is no wonder fertility in Western countries is declining. The potential for female orgasm is based on her perception of the partners "maleness". Wealth can also be a factor. Most men are, unfortunately, poor. A big thing is made of sex today. For the poor of days gone by sex was the only pleasure they had and they did it frequently. Wives had ten or more babies.

Men say they work long hours. It was only in the early 20th century that Western men got one weeks paid leave a year. They worked more than six 12 hour days a week. It is not only men who are at fault. Modern mothers make very soft lives for their sons. Boys grow up without even getting their knees scrapped. They are plonked in front of the TV because it keeps them quiet.

In a generation or so this male weakness could lead to the demise of some nations - in war. They might prefer a negotiated defeat. History has shown what happens to the defeated. They are stripped of wealth and end up toiling for the victors. In other words they are forced into a more basic, tougher life.

Making Drinking Under 21 Illegal Is Not Realistic

Dr Aric Sigman a UK psychologist says the drinking age should be raised to 21. Then we would have young people drinking illegally. Brain damage may be a fact but this has not stopped states in the US allowing the smoking of marijuana, which has similar effects. Anyway, some children drink now and are being permanently brain damaged. Illegality has not stopped them.

It is a myth that parents have control over their children until they are 21. Indeed, many parents seem to have no control over their children at any age. Young people are driven by emotion and they need to "enjoy" everything now. Parents and children sitting down to a rational discussion is fairyland stuff.

Drinking used to be the norm in Australia. Then we had the ridiculous situation where people under 21 could not drink alcohol legally, but they could die on the battlefields of Vietnam.

Humans Wiped Out Australia's Megafauna

Humans destroy more things in the environment than climate change. This is especially the case in Australia where over the last 50,000 years people have wiped out the county's megafauna. Before Aboriginals arrived flightless birds, large reptiles and giant marsupials lived a carefree existence.

Humans slaughtered the large animals in a very short period of time. More accurate dating of bones shows that megafauna died out abruptly. When the giant creatures were in large numbers there is no evidence of human tools. After the Diprotodon, Australia's largest marsupial, large kangaroos and flightless birds died out stone tools appeared. Accurate dating shows they did not exist at the same time even though they were found together at certain locations. When humans became settled the large animals were gone. The odd thing is that humans and megafauna must have coexisted for at least 5,000 years. But this is a very narrow window to find evidence of both living side by side.

This gives weight to the theory that the arrival of modern Man in the Americas caused the demise of the mammoth. Though there is a problem with the American story. Megafauna "ruled" during the ice age which occurred 12,000 years ago. Its seems that when the ice ages ended life changed for the large animals. The climate was then well and truly against the survival of mammoths, short-faced bears, giant bison and sabor-toothed tigers. Some megafauna, however, continued to survive in Kansas, and Nebraska after the ice age period. The skeleton of a giant beaver has been found dating from 10,000 years ago. So Man could still be the culprit.

Anthony Bergin Is Trying to Stop Whaling Protesters by Banning Them at Australian Ports

Anthony Bergin of the Age is completely wrong when he condemns protesters, calling for the Australian Government to ban them from Australian ports. He is not living in a fascist country where any sort of protest is stomped on smartly. He would like everyone to accept the deceitful Japanese - Yes the government of Japan is deceitful, knowingly breaking international law. Anthony Bergin likes to portray himself as the know it all which he is not. His articles have a photograph of him staring wistfully back at you with an air of comfort and righteousness. He is a researcher giving advice to those who act. Consequently, his talks can be totally ignored.

For the Australian Government to be even handed it either leaves both sides alone, which it is doing, or takes legal action against protesters and Japanese fishermen alike. Since when is protesting piracy? The dictionary definition of piracy is "an act of robbery on the high seas". Protesters are not taking anything from anyone. they are preventing the Japanese from stealing whales from the rest of us.

I do believe that continuation of the protest action is vital to keep the spotlight on the killing of whales. If people do nothing then the Japanese get the green light to carry on as usual. It can only be hoped that China invests more money than Japan with developing Islander nations to get the votes reversed at the Commission meeting in Morocco. It would be a good thing for the world if the rogue country of Japan went into economic crisis and did not have the money to invest with small nations.
